Hi everyone, this is Joe stepping in on the blog today for this Durham maternity photography session. A few weeks back, Cristel and I headed out to one of our favourite locations, Sarah P. Duke Gardens, for Dhatri’s maternity shoot. As a member photographer at Duke Gardens, I get to shoot there pretty much at least once every week, so I’m really familiar with the layout of the gardens and how to get around to the best spots for the best light at the best time. This definitely helps for maternity sessions as it means we can hit up some of the most picturesque parts of the garden with the least amount of walking possible. When it’s as hot as it was for Dhatri’s shoot, every step counts, especially when you’re in your third trimester!
As always with our maternity sessions, we give you the opportunity to change your outfit in order to get a variety of looks. Dhatri opted for tea very different dresses which went really well with the summer flowers around the gardens. As you’ll see, Dhatri’s daughter and husband also stepped in for a few quick portraits through the session. Dhatri was so pleased with the maternity session she immediately booked her newborn session. This is what she wrote following the session:
We had a great time with Dhatri and her family and we are looking forward to seeing them again in a few weeks for their newborn session!
