Last weekend, I (Joe) had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Erin for her maternity session at the Biltmore in Asheville. Erin is a very special friend who has shot dozens of weddings with me over the last 6 years or so and is my go-to associate wedding photographer for when I am booked. Erin knew she wanted a mountain vibe for her photos and I actually went out twice to hike some different trails for her to see if they would work for the shoot. Suffice to say, after a total of 4 hours hiking up mountains near Montreat and falling over a total of 6 times coming back down the slick trails, I decided that it was probably not a good idea for a 32-week-pregnant lady to attempt. Erin took some convincing as she is a cross-fitter, but it just worked out easier and safer for us to hit up the Biltmore.
Despite the fact it was a weekend, and it was teeming with tourists as usual, we managed to make it look like we had the place to ourselves. As you can see, we had sun, clouds and a fair bit of wind to deal with. I think we made it work pretty well!
Here are just a few of my faves from the shoot…
